The Competition

The Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge is a competition that allows firefighters from around the world to test themselves
against each other on a course with obsticles common to the firefighting profession. In past years this was televised
on ESPN now it is carried on the Versus network. The challenge consist of about 12-15 regional qualifying events across
the country with a world championship held in November. There are five stages of the course consisting of:
- Stair climb- Ascend a 5 story tower carrying a 45 lb high rise pack.
- Hose hoist- Hoist a 45lb hose roll up the 5 story tower.
- Forcible entry- Drive a 160lb block the distance of 5 ft using a 9lb shot mallet.
- Hose advance- Zigzag 140ft between hydrants then advance a charged hose 75 feet and hit a target.
- Victim rescue- drag a 175lb "dummy" a distance of 100ft to the finish line.

Our team was started in 2005 and has made steady gains every year with 2008 promising to be the best yet. Some
